A popular singer in the 90s Kumar Sanu has opened up about a terrifying experience from her career, revealing that she once felt “fearful” for her safety after being forced to perform at a party in Dubai that featured an underground don. According to Sanu, he had little choice but to go ahead and do it. Considering the time when the locals had so much power in the Hindi film industry, he admits that this made him very nervous.

Speaking on Subhojit Ghosh’s podcast, Sanu admitted, “Darr toh laga tha. Kyunki us samay kuch chal raha tha — aisa ek system tha,” (“I was scared. The singer approached Delhi High Court last year, seeking legal protection of his personality and freedom of expression, based on his unique name, voice, and spelling. The petition is scheduled to come up before Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora on Monday. Among the things that Sanu seeks to protect are its word processing and interpretation, its pronunciation, images, graphics, images, graphics, and signatures.
