Hero Xpulse 421 spotted in Ladakh! The big ADV is getting closer to launch
Hero MotoCorp’s upcoming adventure motorcycle is once again spotted on public roads. The latest test mule was found in Ladakh. The motorcycle, widely expected to be called the Xpulse 421, was seen undergoing high-altitude testing in the Himalayan region.Although the motorcycle remains well-hidden, many important details are visible. The front end features a rally-inspired design with a tall windshield and a high-mounted LED headlamp integrated into a sharply styled fairing. The fuel tank and seat design also reflect the adventure-focused goal. Compared to the large front part, the back half looks quite slim.Suspension duties will likely be handled by long-travel USD front forks and a rear monoshock setup. While exact specifications remain under wraps, some level of suspension adjustability is expected, possibly including compression and rebound adjustment in the front and preload adjustment in the rear.The test bike is seen riding on a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel wrapped in dual-purpose tires. Whether Hero opts for tubeless tires or conventional tube-type units remains to be seen. Braking is expected to come from front disc with radially mounted calipers and rear disc setup, supported by dual-channel ABS.Powering the upcoming adventure motorcycle will be a new liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 421cc engine. Hero MotoCorp has not revealed the official output figures, but the motor is expected to produce around 40 hp, putting it in direct competition with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure. The engine is likely to be mated to a six-speed gearbox.The latest prototype also reveals a digital instrument console, likely a TFT display with smartphone connectivity. Expect features like turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts. Hero is also likely to equip the motorcycle with several electronic rider aids including ride modes, traction control, cruise control and switchable ABS. While the company has not announced an official launch timeline, ongoing testing under extreme conditions indicates that the motorcycle is moving closer to production. We can expect a global showcase at EICMA later this year, followed by an Indian launch in 2027.
