Delhi University has concluded the first round of CSAS degree admissions for the academic year 2026-27, with 63,756 seats successfully filled. While 15,265 candidates confirmed their admissions by freezing the allotted seats, 48,153 opted for upgrades. The second round of allotment will begin on July 25, before the start of classes on July 28.

Delhi University (DU) has successfully concluded the first round of undergraduate admissions under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for the academic session 2026-27. The university has filled 63,756 undergraduate seats in the initial round, while thousands of candidates have opted to freeze their seats or seek an upgrade in the next phase of counselling.With the first round completed, the university has announced that the second round of seat allotment will begin on July 25, 2026. Candidates have been advised to regularly check the official admissions portal of Delhi University and its CSAS dashboard for further updates.

More than 63,700 seats awarded in the first round

According to the university, 63,756 seats have been filled during the first round of CSAS portal admissions.Among the admitted candidates:

  • 15,265 applicants chose the ‘Freeze’ option, confirming their allotted seat and opting out of further rounds of counselling.
  • 48,153 applicants selected the ‘Upgrade’ option, indicating that they wish to be considered for a higher preference program or university in the next allocation round.

The high number of upgrade requests suggests that many students are targeting preferred colleges or courses while maintaining their current admission.

Second round admissions will begin on July 25

Delhi University has confirmed that the second round of CSAS Undergraduate admission process will start on July 25, 2026.Candidates seeking enhanced seat or those who could not get admission in the first round should keep a close eye on their admission board for seat allotment results and subsequent admission related deadlines.The university has urged applicants to stay updated through the official admissions website to avoid missing important announcements or deadlines.

The academic session will begin on July 28

In addition to the above, it was indicated that the commencement of the academic year 2026-27 will take place from July 28, 2026.Students who have completed the admission procedures have to join their respective colleges as per the notification of the institution. Since the new year is to start right after the end of the second round of allotments, it is recommended that students should complete the admission procedures in advance.
