The University of Delhi (DU) has announced a change in the postgraduate admissions schedule for the third round for the academic year 2026-27, announcing new dates for acceptance of seats, verification of documents and payment of fees in the Seat Allocation System for Postgraduate Programs (CSAS-PG).The new DU admission schedule has been released by the university on its admission portal on Saturday, July 12, as the seat allotment process was delayed for applicants seeking admission under CW, Sports and Ward category of supernumerary quota. The university has warned all shortlisted candidates to follow the new deadlines carefully.
Candidates must accept the allotted seats before July 13
According to the revised schedule, candidates who have been allotted seats in the third round must accept their allotment before 11:59 PM on 13 July 2026 through the official admission portal.Once candidates have accepted their places, the relevant departments, centers and colleges will verify and approve the submitted applications. The verification process will continue until 23:59 on July 14, 2026.Candidates whose admissions are approved must complete online fee payment by 11:59 PM on 15 July 2026 to confirm their admission.

Delay linked to the allocation of supernumerary quotas
Delhi University said the revised schedule became necessary because the process of allotment of supernumerary quotas of CW, Sports and Ward could not be completed on time.The university issued the updated schedule to ensure that admissions in all categories are conducted in a coordinated manner without affecting eligible candidates.

The university has also indicated that additional rounds of allotment of postgraduate seats may be announced if they remain vacant after the completion of the third round.Candidates are advised to regularly monitor the official DU admissions portal for more announcements regarding vacant seats, additional allotment rounds and counseling related updates.

In addition to postgraduate admissions, Delhi University continues the undergraduate admission process through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for the academic session 2026-27.According to data released by the university, over 1.90 lakh candidates have registered for undergraduate admissions, while 1,64,098 applicants have completed Phase 2 by submitting their program and college preferences.Admissions are underway for 71,624 undergraduate places in more than 73 programs offered by 69 schools and departments.
