Brook admitted that the prospect of moving up the ranks has been a major source of motivation for his side.“We’ve been told if we win the next game, we’ll go world No. 1 and that’s definitely a prize we’re looking at,” Brook said at a press conference. Despite India’s struggles in the series, Brook was quick to acknowledge the quality of the opposition while praising England’s execution.“India is a strong side. They may not have been as good as they have been in the last two years, but we are very happy with the way we executed our plans,” he added. The England skipper believes that completing a clean sweep against one of the strongest T20 teams in the world is a significant achievement for his side.“Beating India 4-0 is a special series win, if I’m honest, and going No. 1 in the world is even better. That’s our main goal. We want to go out there and try and beat them again.
England’s dominance under Harry Brook
England’s remarkable consistency under Brook is one of the biggest reasons behind their rise. Since taking over the captaincy, the Three Lions have won 19 of their last 22 completed T20Is, with the run including a semi-final appearance at the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, where they were eliminated by finalists India.
