The recent San Diego Comic-Con event brought a lot of new information into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. From Ryan Gosling’s casting as the new Ghost Rider to fans getting a new Black Panther for a 2028 release, many new projects have been announced. In addition, a new trailer for the upcoming Marvel movie ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ was also shown at the event exclusively for fans. The new movie brought a lot of excitement, including the return of an old MCU character and more information about the history of Dr. Doom.

About the new ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

The cast of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ attended the event to promote the film and talk more about their upcoming projects. Robert Downey Jr., who last appeared in an MCU film in 2019, will take on the role of Dr. Doom this coming December. While on stage, Entertainment Weekly reported that Downey took the stage and said, “Choices have to be made, you have to side with the good guys, or you have to think about something else… joining the family of doom. Come to the green side.”The film and the team also confirmed that actress Hayley Atwell will return as Peggy Carter in ‘Doomsday’, which is scheduled to be released in December this year. The trailer also revealed more of Dr. Doom and where he came from. Instead of coming from another world like many other Marvel heroes, Dr. Doom belongs to Earth 818, which is where the ‘Fantastic Four’ team is from.In another part of the video, Vanessa Kirby, who plays Sue Storm, is seen giving a montage. He says, “He’s always the smartest guy in the world… He was kind, he was very caring… Everything he loved was taken away from him… I knew he was lost, and I didn’t realize he was broken.” In another part of the video, Doctor Doom is seen surrounded by his minions, the Guardians, as he battles Thor, the God of Thunder.The event was attended by Chris Evans, Paul Rudd, and Pedro Pascal. Anthony Mackie, Letitia Wright, Hannah John-Kamen, David Harbour, Simu Liu, Danny Ramsey, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, Kelsey Grammer, and Winston Duke. Joe and Anthony Russo were also on hand for the event, and teased some tidbits about the project. Anthony finished the H group and said, “We have work to do to bring you the best judgment day we can, so we’re going to work.”

Robert Downey Jr, who played Iron Man until his death in ‘Endgame,’ will take on a new role as the villain. Recently, he shared some new information about the upcoming Avengers movie. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about it all, he shared, “There’s a science element to it, and they’re considered pretty cool guys. But Tony had a pain that made him a hero, and Doom has something different, which takes the ability of both of these people to go and fight him, and it was fun to see.”He also explained that one of the characters, who also had a big impact on him, added, “It was really weird to be on the other side of the villain’s mask because it’s so isolating. I see them all talking about things, and I’m the enemy!”‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is expected to release in December this year.
