Ather Energy has launched the new 450X Overtones Series in India, bringing cosmetic updates and a faster charging solution to its popular electric scooter. Priced from Rs 1.57 lakh, ex-showroom, for the base variant, the updated model gets three new color options, a more powerful charger and the latest Atherstack software features, while the mechanical package remains unchanged.The biggest visual update comes in the form of the new Overtones Series, which introduces three new paint schemes: Still White, Space Gray and Lunar Grey. Buyers opting for these new color schemes will have to pay an additional Rs 1,000.Besides the new colors, Ather has also upgraded the standard charger. The scooter now has a 900W charger instead of the earlier 700W unit. The company claims that the new charger will reduce charging time by around 30 percent.The 450X Overtones Series is also equipped with the latest Atherstack 7 software platform. It features Voice on Air, which allows riders to use voice commands for functions such as navigation, finding charging stations and adjusting display brightness. The software also introduces several new safety features, including CrashAlert, which detects an accident and automatically sends a text message to emergency contacts, ParkSafe, which warns users when parking in areas prone to theft or towing, and LockSafe, which allows owners to remotely disable the scooter’s motor through the Ather app.Ather also promoted the Halo smart helmet ecosystem, which integrates the rider’s phone, scooter dashboard and helmet to enable hands-free communication and audio functions.Mechanically, the scooter remains unchanged. The update is limited to cosmetic improvements, software improvements and faster charging, with no changes made to the powertrain or performance specifications.
