Delhi Police, protesters offer conflicting views

Separately on Monday, representatives of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) held discussions with Union Health Minister JP Nadda regarding their demands, with the minister urging the protesters to desist. Chief spokesperson of CJP Saurav Das said three demands were placed before Nadda, including the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and a compensation of ₹ 1 crore to the families of NEET seekers, “more than 20 of whom have lost their lives.” He said that activist Sonam Wangchuk, who is in hospital, should be “released immediately,” adding that the protests will continue until Pradhan resigns.
