Amanda Batula has announced her departure from ‘Summer House’ after working on the television show since its debut in 2017. The Bravo personality will not be returning to production for season 11, marking the end of her ten-year association with the show.According to E! News, Batula’s exit ends a difficult year marked by chaos and division. She and Kyle Cooke, who she married in 2021, confirmed their separation in January after four years of marriage. Later, on March 31, Batula revealed through a joint Instagram post that she started dating West Wilson – a relationship that led to the “#Scamanda” scandal and strained their relationship.
West Wilson early departure for the show
Wilson, who joined ‘Summer House’ in 2024, led Batula to leave the series. His departure was confirmed on June 15, and he addressed the decision during an appearance on the Broadcast Boys podcast on June 24. “I wanted to say it myself,” said Wilson about his exit. “But it’s true. But in my defense, I don’t think it would have been a fun summer,” he added, acknowledging the disparity that would have been the show’s production.
The conflict reached a high-profile climax on the show, when Ciara’s ex-partner Miller Batula, who dated Wilson before her split in 2023, confronted the couple directly. Miller, who is now co-hosting “Love Island USA Aftersun” in Fiji, expressed her dismay at what happened on June 9.“I didn’t know I’d be sitting here pissed off that you’re my ex-king,” Miller told Batula. “He wants to embarrass me. He wants to get his last little word. And I hope it works, because he has you to hate me,” he continued, explaining his thoughts on Wilson’s recommendations for friendship.
West Wilson’s defense of the relationship
Wilson responded to Miller’s criticism on the June 16 Aftermath special, defending his relationship with Batula as genuine and not revenge. Speaking directly to Cooke, Wilson explained the basis of their relationship. “I can tell you that my relationship with Amanda is the first time I’ve come out of a three-year relationship where there’s nothing going on. There’s nothing trying to prove anything,” he said.Wilson explained his vision of their future together, showing big long-term goals. “I regret many things, but one thing I will not regret is my feelings for Amanda and caring for her. I will not apologize for that,” he said, emphasizing that the connection went beyond the drama surrounding his revelation.
