Veteran actor SI Rajasekhar passed away at his residence in Chingavanam. The actor became widely known for his performances in films and TV shows, especially playing police officers. His frequent appearances by junior managers earned him the popular nickname “SI Rajasekhar.” The cause of death has not been officially released.One of those who expressed their grief was superstar Mammootty who shared a heartfelt message on social media.

SI Rajasekhar built an extensive acting career that spanned three decades. Since the 1980s he has appeared in more than 100 Malayalam films while also establishing a presence on television through several dramas.His last appearance came in ‘Oru Second Class Yathra’, which was released in 2015.
An unforgettable partnership with Mammootty and Joshiy
Rajasekhar often worked with director Joshi, especially in films with Mammootty. Some of his notable collaborations include ‘Sandarbham’ (1984), ‘Rajavinte Makan’ (1986), ‘Nair Saab’ (1989), ‘No. 20 Madras Mail’ (1990), ‘Mudra’, ‘Vazhiyorakazchakal’, entries in the Sethurama Iyer CBI film series and ‘Thappana’ (2012).
