Speaking to the Los Angeles Times about the story, Nolan said that he made a conscious decision to make the film and it was not a mistake. Explaining the reasons for his choice, Nolan shared that he wanted to use language that didn’t fit the story, but something that people could relate to.He also said, “Maybe I was naive, it could have bit me in the ass, but I wanted a worldly story. To me it made no sense.”These are not the only things that the director has carefully considered for the film. Speaking to Time magazine earlier this year, the star detailed many of the tools, including brass knives, which have been designed to accurately replicate what the tools would have been like at the time. He also explained in detail how the props were designed to be black to give the most precision.He added security by casting rapper Travis Scott in “The Odyssey” as the bard. He said, “I cast him because I wanted to acknowledge that the story is presented as a spoken word poem, which is similar to rap.”
