Switzerland ranked first with an overall opportunity score of 86%, beating all other countries.Switzerland’s position is attributed to its exceptional income potential, strong professional networks and high quality of life.Cities such as Zurich and Geneva are global centers for banking, pharmaceuticals, commodity trading and advanced manufacturing. Meanwhile, institutions such as ETH Zurich are consistently among the top universities in the world.Low unemployment, political stability and a highly skilled workforce are also important factors that give Switzerland the top spot.

Singapore scored 81% overall and was tied with Switzerland for earnings potential. The city is one of the financial and technological centers of Asia. It is home to global banks, multinational companies and fast-growing technology companies. There are opportunities in finance, artificial intelligence, biotechnology and logistics.The country’s universities, such as the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University, also rank well in international rankings.Thanks to its strategic location and business-friendly environment, Singapore was also able to attract skilled workers from around the world, strengthening its reputation as a gateway to Asian markets.

Australia finished third with a score of 80% ahead of both the UK and the US. Australia’s strengths are its world-renowned universities, research ecosystem and liveability, the report says.The country is home to institutions such as the University of Melbourne, the Australian National University and the University of Sydney. Important sectors include healthcare, renewable energy, mining technology and education that generate skilled employment.Australia has also remained a preferred destination for international students due to post-graduation work opportunities and pathways to skilled employment.
United Kingdom and USA
The United Kingdom shared fourth place with the United States, with an overall score of 79%.The UK has achieved one of the highest scores in premium education due to the global reputation of its universities such as Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial College London.London is also one of the largest financial centers in the world. Sectors including fintech, life sciences, creative industries and artificial intelligence attract international professionals.Although competition for employment is very high, the country’s higher education system and established professional networks make it a leading destination for global talent.The United States tied the United Kingdom in the overall ranking and, like Switzerland, scored 100 for earnings potential.The country continues to be home to many of the world’s largest technology companies, research institutions and venture capital ecosystems.Silicon Valley, New York, Boston, and Seattle are major centers of innovation in the United States, and universities such as Harvard, MIT, and Stanford attract students from all over the world.While the US offers exceptional wages and job opportunities, its overall score is tempered by comparatively lower ratings for economic mobility and livability.
