JKBOPEE has started the third round of counselling, or clearing counseling process, for admissions to BE and BTech courses through JKCET 2026. The online counseling process started on July 3 and will be available till July 5, 2026 (midnight). This round gives another chance to the eligible candidates to get admission in the remaining vacancies after the second round.This make-up round has been launched to fill the vacant seats due to non-inclusion of candidates, resignation, transfer of seats and unavailability of seats after completion of the second round of counseling for private and government engineering colleges in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The clearing round aims to fill the engineering vacancies
According to the notification issued by JKBOPEE, the latest round of counseling has been launched after colleges reported shortfall in admissions through the Board’s online admission portal. Available seats include those left vacant as a result of candidates’ decision not to join their allotted institutes or to withdraw from the admission process.The Board has advised the eligible candidates to participate within the stipulated time as no applications will be accepted after the counseling period closes.
Who can participate in JKCET 3rd round of counseling ?
JKBOPEE has outlined the categories of candidates eligible to participate in the third round of counselling. Candidates who have not been allotted any seat during the first or second round can participate in the cleaning process. Those who secured a seat in previous rounds and successfully joined their allotted institute can also opt for upgradation subject to counseling norms and availability of seats.Candidates who were allotted a seat during the first round but did not join, as well as those who resigned from the allotted institute before the last date of joining set for the first round, are also eligible to participate in the third round for all available courses and institutions.
Restrictions for those not included in the second round
The Board, however, has imposed certain restrictions on the candidates who did not accept the second round allotments.Candidates who have been allotted a seat during the second round but have not joined the allotted institution will not be eligible to opt for the same course in the same institution during the third round. However, they remain eligible to compete for other courses within the same institution and for all courses offered by other participating institutions, subject to the availability of places.Similarly, candidates who have canceled their admission before the last date set for second round admissions will also not be eligible to apply for admission to the same course in the same institution during this round. However, they can apply for different courses at the same institution or courses offered by other participating colleges where places remain vacant.

The online update and seat allotment process will continue till the midnight of 5th July 2026. During this period, eligible candidates can review the available options and exercise their preferences through the JKBOPEE counseling portal.The Board has urged aspirants to carefully evaluate their options before submitting preferences as allotments will be made based on merit, eligibility, availability of seats and applicable counseling norms.Here is the link in official statement.
