Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association suspends president after 8-0 vote Apex Council Cricket News:

NEW DELHI: Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) president Javid Ahmed Kitab has been suspended with immediate effect after the association’s Apex Council passed a unanimous resolution in favor of the move.The decision was finalized on June 25 and was approved by an 8-0 majority vote. According to the notice, the resolution was circulated to the competent members of the Apex Council under Rule 23(i) of the JKCA Constitution. Since the matter concerns the conduct and suspension of the president, the resolution was not sent to the Kitab. However, it was spread among the remaining nine members of the Apex Council. Eight members voted in favor of the resolution, while one member did not announce a decision.The notice said, “Therefore, the Resolution was passed by a majority of 8:0 in terms of Rule 23(i) read with Rule 48(6) of the JKCA Constitution.”It further stated, “In terms of the said resolution, Javid Ahmed Kitab, president, Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association, has been suspended with immediate effect.”The notification also stated that the resolution will carry the same force and validity as one passed in a duly convened meeting of the Apex Council. It will be placed before the council at its next meeting for ratification, as required under the constitution.The JKCA also ordered all officers, employees, affiliated units and other functionaries of the association to “take all consequential steps for the immediate implementation of the resolution in accordance with the Constitution” of the association.
