Namit Malhotra’s first trailerRamayana‘ is here, and it’s everything moviegoers have been waiting for. After months of anticipation, previews and endless internet speculation surrounding Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial, the makers on July 30 released the sensational trailer.
‘Ramayana’ trailer released online
Ahead of the auspicious Brahma Muhurat, the trailer was released on the official YouTube website at 4.15 am. The group went on to share the trailer with a tagline that read, “Trailer of Ramayana. This is when the EPIC BEGINS.”

The four-and-nine-minute trailer lets fans in on the final battle between good and evil, with stunning visuals, thrilling moments and impressive VFX on a scale rarely seen in Indian filmmaking.The trailer begins with Yash’s Ravana rising from the shadows to claim the throne. The trailer then goes on to show the main shots of Ayodhya and the story that sets up the old legend. Ranbir Kapoor he looks like Lord Rama, dressed in simple saffron clothes before slowly transforming into a warrior prince. Sai PallaviSita is introduced, sharing romantic scenes with Rama before the story shifts to exile and Lakshmana, played by Ravi Dubey, standing by their side.
Yash’s Ravana steals all the attention
However, it is Yash’s Ravana that changes the trailer completely. The trailer showcases Ravana as an imposing figure, whose golden armor, striking design and menacing voice make for a common man who feels both dignified and awe-inspiring.
In the world of ‘Ramayana’
Several teases in the history of the previous trailer made their way into the release, including a stunning image of the golden kingdom of Lanka, huge armies going to war, giants, giants and mythical creatures on display. Even the trailer shows the film’s emotional relationship between Rama and Sita.If the trailer has one accomplishment, it’s setting up the conflict between Kapoor’s benevolent Lord Rama and his noble adversary in Yash’s Ravana. While Rama embodies justice, Ravana embodies power, passion and vulnerability, laying the foundation for what promises to be a narrative of ‘Our truth, our history.’
Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman’s music shines
Musically, the collaboration between Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman is one of the highlights of the trailer. Like ‘Rama First Glimpse’, the music from the Oscar winner goes a long way in elevating the trailer and emotional moments in the film. The VFX work, handled by DNEG, provides larger-than-life visuals and seamless CGI that blends naturally with live action.

Ramayana has one of the largest collections of Indian films. It stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, while Sai Pallavi portrays Sita. Yash makes his Bollywood debut as Ravana, with Sunny Deol playing Lord Hanuman and Ravi Dubey essaying the role of Lakshman.The cast includes Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha, Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, Arun Govil as King Dashrath, Vivek Oberoi as Vidyutjihva, Kunal Kapoor as Lord Indra, Adinath Kothare as Bharata, while Anupam Kher lends his voice to Jatayu.
