NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) has announced the creation of additional MTech seats for the academic year 2026-27 under its Principal’s Platinum Jubilee Plan. The initiative has been introduced to expand graduate education opportunities in selected strategic disciplines involving multiple departments, centers and schools.Additional seats will be offered through the regular MTech admission process based on valid GATE scores and will follow the existing admission norms of the institute. Opportunities for existing applicantsCandidates who have already applied for MTech admission for the academic session 2026-27 but have not yet received an offer have been advised to check their registered email accounts regularly.The institute has informed the applicants that additional admission opportunities may be communicated through official email channels as the seats under the Platinum Jubilee initiative are expanded.Focus on the technical talent of the futureIIT Kharagpur stated that the platinum jubilee scheme represents an effort to create more opportunities for students pursuing advanced technical education.
