The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the admit card for the Combined Medical Services (CMS) exam 2026. Candidates who have applied for this exam can now download their e-admit card from the official website, upsconline.nic.in.CMS 2026 exam will be held on 2nd August 2026 which is Sunday. It will be held in different centers of the country.UPSC has made it clear that no physical or paper admit card will be sent to the candidates. The e-admit card is the only version issued and candidates should download and take a printout of it well in advance. This printout must be kept safe until the CMS 2026 exam final results are declared.

Things candidates must bring to the exam centre
According to the press release issued by the UPSC, candidates must bring the following items to the examination venue:
- Printing of the electronic admit card
- Pen and pencil
- Proof of identity
- Water in a transparent bottle
- Copies of self-photographs, where applicable
The photo ID card mentioned in the e-admit card is mandatory for entry. If a candidate’s photograph in the e-admit card is not clear, he/she will have to carry a photo identity card along with two passport size photographs. These photographs will be placed in a commission from the same venue, for each session in which they appear.Items not allowed insideUPSC has clearly listed the items that candidates are not allowed to carry inside the exam venue. These include:
- Mobile phones
- Smart watches and digital watches
- Other computer gadgets
- books
- bags
- Any other valuable or expensive item
The Commission has also said that the grounds supervisors will not arrange any place to keep these prohibited items. Therefore, if a candidate carries any such article, he/she will have to make his/her own arrangement to keep it out, and UPSC will not be responsible for any loss.Only a plain or simple wristwatch is allowed inside the examination hall. Smart watches or watches with special functions that can be used to communicate or cheat are strictly prohibited. Calculators are also not allowed for objective type papers.Candidates have been specifically instructed to carry a black pen with them. This pencil should be used to fill the OMR answer sheets for both papers as well as the attendance list. UPSC has mentioned that no other pen will work for this purpose.
Information schedule and entry rules
Candidates are advised to reach the examination venue at least one and a half hours before the commencement of the session. This time will be used for facial authentication, identity verification and registration.Access doors will close 30 minutes before the start of the exam. This means:
- For the afternoon session, entry closes at 9:00
- For the afternoon session, entry closes at 1:30 p.m
No candidate will be allowed to enter after these hours for whatever reason. Candidates are also not allowed to appear in any center other than the one mentioned in their own e-admit card.The UPSC has also warned that if a candidate is found carrying a mobile phone or any other electronic or communication device, even in switched off mode, strict action will be taken. This may include cancellation of candidature, an FIR or police complaint, and failure to appear for the remaining sessions or days of the exam. The Commission may also take any other action permitted by the examination rules.
Have you changed your name? Here’s what to do
If any candidate has legally changed their name after applying for the exam, they must bring a government-issued photo ID showing this name change. This must be done at the exam center in each session. Without this, the candidate will not be able to access the exam site.UPSC has asked all the candidates to check that their name, photograph and QR code on the e-admit card are correct. In case of error, candidates should immediately write to the Commission at soe13.upsc@gov.in so that the problem can be resolved in time.
