Banking Personnel Selection Institute (IBPS) has extended the last date to apply for Probationary Officer (PO) and Specialized Officer (SO) Recruitment 2026. Eligible candidates can now submit their applications till 26th July 2026, through the official website, ibps.in.The recruitment drive aims to fill 6,715 probationary officer vacancies and 745 specialist officer vacancies in the participating banks.
IBPS PO, SO recruitment 2026 : Eligibility
For the posts of Probationary Officer (PO), candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. They should also have a valid mark sheet or degree certificate at the time of online registration and mention their graduation marks while filling the application form.For specialized officer (SO) positions, educational qualifications vary by position. Candidates must check the detailed notification of further eligibility criteria.
IBPS PO, SO Recruitment 2026: Selection Process
For the recruitment of Probationary Officers (POs), the selection process includes a preliminary examination, a main examination and a personality test.The preliminary exam will consist of 100 questions carrying 100 marks and will be conducted for 60 minutes. The main exam will consist of 170 questions of 200 marks with a duration of 160 minutes.There is a negative mark in the objective tests. One quarter (0.25) of the mark allotted to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer, while unanswered questions will not carry any penalty.For Specialist Officers (SO) Recruitment, candidates will have to appear for Online Preliminary Exam, Online Main Exam and Interview. Those who qualify in the preliminary exam will be shortlisted for the main exam. The final selection will be based on the marks obtained in the main examination and the interview.

Application fee
Candidates belonging to General, Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories will have to pay an application fee of ₹850.Candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Reference Disability (PwBD) categories will have to pay ₹175.The fee can be paid by debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI. Candidates are encouraged to complete the application process before the extended deadline of 26 July 2026.
