A veteran player Shabana Azmi reportedly fell ill at a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Monday while participating in a protest in support of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). This happened a day after the actor visited a protest site to show solidarity with the ongoing protests.A video of the incident also surfaced on social media, showing the 75-year-old actor looking frail and slightly conscious. In these pictures, several people are seen supporting him by holding his hands and escorting him through the crowd.Students at the protest are heard asking the security forces to open the gate so that Shabana can be taken to a safe place. After informing the guards about his condition and who he was, he was allowed to pass. The actor was then escorted to the security booth, where he was helped into a chair. The reason for his sudden illness has yet to be determined.Shabana first arrived at Jantar Mantar on Sunday, where she met CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and other hunger strikers. Videos of his journey have attracted a lot of attention on the Internet. Earlier in the day, before the health scare, Shabana spoke to PTI about the purpose of the protests. He said, “We have come to protest peacefully. This is a right given by our Constitution. Mahatma Gandhi he taught us the way of non-violence. We don’t want to do violence.” The expert also asked the media to focus on what is important and not the presence or absence of celebrities at the show. “You are just complaining that Bollywood celebrities are not there for the march. You don’t worry about the lack of industry, all entrepreneurs. When you ask these questions, you sidestep the causes and create unnecessary arguments. You should help those who are traveling for these reasons, instead of confusing the issue,” he told reporters.Shabana is one of the prominent people who supported the CJP-led movement at Jantar Mantar. Players Swara BhaskarPrakash Raj and Poonam Panday are said to have also visited the protest site. Many other famous people have said that they are helping them online. Sonakshi Sinha recently shared a video about Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike and encouraged her to prioritize her health.“Ab dekha nahi jaa raha… dil nahi maan raha… @wangchuksworld Sir… we can’t lose you,” he wrote.Shabana had also earlier asked Wangchuk to end the fast, saying that his presence and guidance were very important to the students and he must be healthy for the movement to continue.
