BPSC issues official postponement notice
In an official notification, the Commission confirmed that the exam will not be held on the previously announced date.The notice says:“The 72nd Integrated (Preliminary) Opposition, which was scheduled for July 26, 2026, has been postponed due to unavoidable reasons. The new date for the exam will be announced shortly by the Commission.”The notification was issued by the Controller of Examinations of BPSC and has been uploaded on the official portal of the Commission.
Candidates asked to wait for the revised schedule
The Commission has not yet announced the new date for the preliminary examination. Aspirants have been advised to visit the BPSC official website regularly to get updates about the revised exam date, admit card and other important instructions.The postponement means that the exam timetable announced earlier this month is now canceled until a new timetable is issued.

BPSC Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) is one of the main state civil services recruitment exam in Bihar. The 72nd recruitment cycle aims to fill 1186 vacancies in various departments of Bihar Government.The recruitment process is carried out in three stages: preliminary examination, main examination and interview.

Selected candidates will be appointed to various Group A and Group B administrative positions, including:
- Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)
- Subdivisional Magistrate (SDM)
- Rural Development Officer
- Tax Officer
- Block Panchayat Raj Officer
- Other administrative positions in different departments of the state government
