The winners of the 72nd National Film Awards will be announced today at 5:30 pm, and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will announce the results at the National Media Center in New Delhi. The announcement is almost two weeks late
This year’s announcement comes after a nearly two-week delay. Previous reports suggested that the judges needed more time to complete the evaluation before finalizing the winners. Arranging contracts involving fewer members of the jury also contributed to the suspension.During the delay, media organizations and industry executives were advised to refrain from speculation until the selection process was completed. After the deliberations, the ministry is ready to officially announce the winners in the various categories.Only films that have received certification from Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024, are eligible for the International Film Awards.
