Prince Harry says he feels “happy” and “very inspired” after meeting the extended family with King Charles at their home. The Duke of Sussex spent more than an hour with his father, along with his wife Meghan Markle and their children Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, along with Queen Camilla.According to the Daily Mail, the Duke’s friends described him as “overjoyed” that his family would be able to accompany him on his trip to the UK. The meeting was held at Highgrove on Friday between 3.30pm and 4pm, and the family was there for about an hour. The reunion represented a moment of reconciliation in a difficult week for Harry, who had just lost his secret High Court case against a major newspaper publisher.
Circumstances surrounding the couple’s arrival in the UK
Although they had planned to join their father on his trip to London, Meghan and the children did not accompany Harry due to ongoing disputes over the protection of taxpayer-funded police officers. However, the Duchess decided to fly the couple to Britain to meet the King at Highgrove. Meghan did not attend any of Harry’s Invictus Games events, where Harry competed in disability rugby, pickleball and the Laser Run.

Friday is the first time in four years that the 77-year-old king, who continues to receive treatment for cancer, saw his grandchildren in person. A royal source defended the decision to meet despite criticism, offering a simple statement about the importance of family relationships. “Blood is blood. The day after the meeting with the King, Harry traveled to Warwickshire to take part in Scotty’s Little Soldiers summer festival, joining around 200 young people and their families at the event. However, before leaving for Warwickshire, he was spotted leaving Althorp House in Northamptonshire, where his mother, Princess Diana, lives on a remote island.The Duke also said he would like to bring Meghan and their children to visit Diana’s final resting place.
