The National Testing Agency (NTA) is likely to release the result of the re-examination which will be declared before July 20, 2026. Although the agency has not announced an exact date, officials have said that the evaluation process is being completed on priority to ensure that students receive their results without unnecessary delay. The re-NEET UG exam was held on June 21, after the original test held on May 3 was canceled following allegations of a paper leak. More than 20 thousand candidates had appeared for the canceled exam.
NTA says academic session will not be delayed
According to a senior NTA official, the agency is working on a “war footing” to complete the results process. Officials have also assured the candidates that the delay caused by the re-examination will not affect the commencement of the MBBS academic session.Normally, NEET results are announced around 45 days after the exam. However, since the re-examination was organized in just 37 days after the canceled test, the agency expects to release the results before the usual schedule.Before declaring the results, NTA will publish the final answer key on the official website of NEET. The result will be prepared entirely from this final answer key.The provisional answer key was released in the last week of June, and candidates could challenge it till June 28. According to the agency, applicants submitted nearly 10,000 objections.Officials said that each challenge is being carefully scrutinized along with supporting documents before preparing the final answer key.
NEET UG Result 2026: Steps to Download Score Cards
Candidates can follow these steps to download their NEET UG 2026 Scorecard once the result is declared:
- Go to NEET official website: neet.nta.nic.in.
- Click on
NEET UG Result 2026 ‘ or the ‘Download Dashboard’ link available on the home page. - Enter your application number, password (or date of birth if required) and the security PIN/Captcha shown on the screen.
- Click the Submit button.
- Your NEET UG 2026 Scoreboard will appear on the screen.
- Download the scorecard and take a printout for future use during the counseling and admission process.

What happens after the result?
Once the results are declared, the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) will announce the counseling schedule for:
- 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats.
- AIIMS
- JIPMER
- Central universities
- Considered universities
The state counseling authorities will publish the admission timings for the remaining 85% state quota seats separately.
