A construction project linked to Salman Khan comes under the scanner

A Dainik Gomantak report says that a PIL was filed by the Calangute Constituency Forum, challenging the construction that took place in Candolim, which is said to be within the 100-meter “No Development Zone” under CRZ-III rules.According to the petition, alleging violation of environmental laws, Salman and a company associated with him have constructed residential buildings in environmentally sensitive areas. Classic City Investments Private Limited has allegedly constructed residential buildings and swimming pools about 55 meters from the Sinquerim river line, allegedly in violation of CRZ rules. The petition also states that Salman Khan is the managing partner of the company. The PIL also challenges the occupancy certificate issued by the Gram Panchayat on April 30, 2025. It says that the construction work at the site went beyond the approved plans and that ‘mistakes’ were made in issuing the certificate. The petition names several stakeholders, including the Government of Goa, Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority, Candolim Gram Panchayat, Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change and many other agencies.
