The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will start the online registration process for its 2026 recruitment campaign tomorrow, July 7, 2026. Earlier, the application process was scheduled to start earlier, but the board revised the dates due to administrative reasons.Interested and eligible candidates can submit their application forms through NBEMS official website till 31st July 2026.The recruitment campaign aims to fill 53 vacancies in different positions. However, the board has clarified that the number of vacancies may increase, decrease or even withdraw without notice.
Details of the vacancy
Recruitment includes the following positions:
- Assistant Director (Medical): 2 publications
- Junior Programmer: 1 post
- Junior Accountant: 4 publications
- Stenographer: 7 publications
- Junior Assistant: 39 posts (including one pending vacancy for Scheduled Tribe (ST) category)
Eligibility criteria
Candidates must ensure that they meet the educational qualification and age limit for the post they are applying for.
- Assistant Director (Medical): Recognized postgraduate medical degree; maximum age 35 years.
- Junior Programmer: Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) or degree in Computing, Information Technology, Electronics or an equivalent qualification; age below 27 years.
- Junior Accountant: Degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Commerce; age below 27 years.
- Stenographer: Class 12 pass with shorthand and typing skills; age from 18 to 27 years.
- Junior Assistant: Class 12 pass with computer knowledge; age below 27 years.
Application fee
Candidates belonging to General, Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Unreserved (UR) categories will have to pay an application fee of Rs 1,500 plus 18% Goods and Services Tax (GST).Candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Reference Disability (PwBD) and Women candidates categories are exempted from paying application fee. Bank processing charges will apply separately.
Selection process
The recruitment process will consist of Computer Based Test (CBT) Phase I followed by Computer Knowledge/Skill Test (Stage II) for applicable posts.There will be no interview for Group B and Group C posts.The final merit list for the posts of Junior Accountant, Stenographer and Junior Assistant will be prepared based on the performance of the candidates in both the phases of the selection process.
