After a long hiatus, Malayalam actioner ‘Balti’ is all set to entertain the audience on OTT. To play Shane Nigam innovatively, the Malayalam drama combines sports, crime and emotional relationships behind the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border.

Broadcaster Sony LIV has announced that Balti will premiere on July 10.Sharing the update, the platform wrote, “Get ready for the full video! #Balti is live from 10th July only on Sony LIV.” The film will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. The film appeared on the big screens on September 25, 2025 and reports say that the producers have been testing the OTT release for several months, as it finally sets a search date with the platform now.

A story of friendship, Kabaddi and crime

Written and directed by debutant Unni Sivalingam, ‘Balti’ follows the life of Udhayan popularly known as Balti. He is a talented kabaddi player from Velampalayam village. He shares a close relationship with his mother and friends.His life changes dramatically after his team wins a local kabaddi tournament. The unexpected success brings him into contact with Porthamarai Bhairavan. The entire story combines action, emotion and dramatic performances.
