Hyundai Creta EV prices now start at Rs 10.99 lakh: BaaS scheme details

Hyundai Motor India today announced the launch of the Hyundai Creta under its BaaS (Battery-As-A-Service) programme. This reduces the starting price of the EV SUV to Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Under the battery-as-a-service model, the rental cost starts at Rs 3.9 per kilometer, which helps reduce the initial acquisition cost. For buyers who want outright ownership, the Creta Electric is available at a starting price of Rs 18.03 lakh (ex-showroom).Along with the announcement of the BaaS structure, Hyundai has also added an integrated side step on select trims, which aims to improve ease of access. The EV also has a 7.4 kW AC wall charger. Earlier, buyers of the higher spec variants were offered an 11 kW AC wall charger. Regardless of the variant chosen, every Creta Electric continues to be equipped with an onboard charging system as standard.

The Creta Electric is offered in seven variants and comes with two battery options – 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. The 42kWh battery pack has a claimed range of 420 km, and the larger 51.4kWh unit delivers 510 km. Using the DC fast charger, the EV can go from 10% to 80% charge in 58 minutes. The long-range variant can sprint from 0 to 100 kph in 7.9 seconds. It also gets three modes – Eco, Normal and Sport. Feature-wise, the Creta EV gets dual 10.25-inch screens – one for the infotainment and one for the instrument cluster, and it also gets a new steering wheel as seen in the Kona sold overseas. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered seats, automatic climate control, vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology, 360-degree camera, digital key and ADAS suite.
