Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna shot several episodes of their romantic thriller ‘Cocktail 2’ on location, with Sicily and Delhi serving as the locations. While outdoor photography was successful, Delhi’s plan is said to have come with its own set of challenges due to the city’s air pollution.The film’s joint line producer, Sumit Tyagi, recently shared a anecdote about the actor’s complaint about Delhi’s pollution during an appearance on the Shivam Podcast.
Shahid reportedly refused to go out without air purifiers
According to Tyagi, the production team was informed that Shahid Kapoor would not leave his junk car to shoot outdoors unless he arranged for an air purifier. The sequence was shot at Cyber City in Gurugram, which made the request difficult to follow as the location was completely open.Recalling the incident, he said, “This was Shahid’s, so we can’t call it useless. Because Shahid said I won’t come out of the van. He would only remove the mask before the shooting; otherwise, he had the mask on all the time.”Tyagi also questioned the effectiveness of the plan, saying, “We shoot in Cyber City. How can an air purifier help there? Everything is open.”
Production tried to accept the request
The employee revealed that five to six air purifiers were prepared at the last minute even though they were designed for indoor use. He explained that Shahid’s concerns about the poor AQI were valid, but acknowledged that the equipment would do little to improve conditions for outdoor shooting.“So that you don’t get hurt that what you want is not met and the production has been done,” said Tyagi explaining what the team has done.

During the interview, Tyagi also described Shahid Kapoor as “angry” and “manmauji” (spiritless), saying that the actor likes to maintain professional boundaries and only focuses on his work.This is not the first time that Shahid’s habits have been in the headlines. Earlier, “Kabir Singh’s” co-star Kiara Advani revealed on “Koffee With Karan” that the shoot was delayed for hours as the actor chose a pair of shoes for an event.
