An actor and dancer Javed Jaaferi has opened up about the much talked about rumors from the early years of his career.While appearing on an Indian reality dance show, Jaaved looked back at what he says he did. Sanjay DuttDance sequences in the famous song ‘Tamma Tamma’ from ‘Thanedar’. The veteran actor recalled how the rumors were rampant despite Sanjay Dutt’s best efforts.
Jaaved Jaaferi says the rumor has taken on a life of its own
Talking about the long-standing misconceptions, Jaaved shared that many people believed that he had entered as Sanjay Dutt’s dance double due to his similarity to his dance style. However, he made it clear that the role belonged to Sanjay Dutt.Recalling the incident, Jaaved said: “You know there was a rumor that ki maine repeated kiya hai Sanju ko in ‘Tamma Tamma’. Sanju ne bichare ne itni mehnat karke woh dance kiya tha aur logon ne bola, ‘Arey ye Sanju nahi hai.'”(You know, there were rumors that I copied Sanju’s style. Poor Sanju had worked so hard to dance, but people said, ‘Oh, this is not Sanju’s original style.’)
Urmila Matondkar explains why fans believed the story
Based on Jaaved’s recollections, Urmila Matondkar shared her view on why the rumor became so popular. According to him, Jaaved introduced a dance that people have never seen before. His movements and his visual style were so different that people naturally associated with him the spectacular dances.Explaining her thoughts, Urmila said, “Kyuki inhone jab, ‘Bol Baby Bol Rock N Roll’ kiya tha toh jab woh aaye the, toh tote ud gaye the, because iss tarah ka dance kisi ne dekha hi nahi tha. Kai barson ke baad is tarah ki choreography dancing aayi thi. Aur mujhe lagta hai kabhi-kabhi aadhi choreography inhone khud hi ki hogi because you unki style hai.”(Because when he did ‘Bol Baby Bol Rock N Roll’ and made his appearance, everyone was very surprised, because no one had seen such a dance before. Such filming and dancing came after many years.Jaaved Jaaferi established himself as one of the leading dancers in Bollywood in the late 1980s and 1990s.Shown in Thanedar, Tamma Tamma starred Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit and it is still one of the most popular dance moves in Bollywood.
