Central Bank of India will close the online registration process for 4500 trainee posts today, 28 June 2026. Candidates who have not yet applied are advised to complete their application before the deadline through the established online portals.Earlier, the last date to apply was June 22, 2026. However, the bank extended the application deadline to June 28, giving additional time to eligible candidates to register.Recruitment is carried out in accordance with the Apprenticeship Act 1961 for the financial year 2026-27. Apprentice vacancies have been advertised in various states and Union Territories.

Central Bank of India Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Details of the vacancy

A total of 4,500 apprentice positions will be filled through this recruitment drive.The states with the most vacancies include:

  • Maharashtra – 586 posts
  • Uttar Pradesh – 580 posts
  • Madhya Pradesh – 459 posts
  • Tomorrow: 433 posts
  • West Bengal: 315 posts
  • Gujarat – 305 posts

Eligibility criteria

Here are the detailed eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates must have a post graduate degree from a recognized university or institution.
  • Applicants who have already completed apprenticeship training in any organization or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training are not eligible to apply.
  • The bank has also stated that candidates with one year or more of work experience or training after obtaining the required educational qualification will not be eligible for the apprenticeship.
  • Age of applicants will be calculated from 31st May 2026. Candidates belonging to reserved categories may refer detailed notification for age relaxation information.

Selection process

The selection process includes the following phases:

  • Online exam
  • Local language proficiency test
  • Document verification
  • Evaluation of the medical condition

The online exam will have 100 multiple choice questions carrying 100 marks. Candidates will have 60 minutes to complete the test, and there will be no negative marking.The question paper will cover:

  • General and financial awareness
  • Quantitative and reasoning skills
  • Computer knowledge
  • general english
  • Central Bank of India Products and Services

The online exam is expected to be conducted in the first week of July 2026.
