NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to close the online challenge window for the NEET UG Provisional Answer Key tonight, June 28, 2026 at 11:50 PM.Candidates who appeared for the medical entrance re-examination must submit their objections along with a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 200 per question before the deadline.Key timeline and high stakesThe central agency expedited the re-examination to address the previous assessment discrepancies, which involved more than 20 lakh registered candidates across the country.The answer key challenge window opened on June 25, 2026, giving aspirants a narrow window of 72 hours to verify their respective sets of test booklets.

Refund rules and fee verificationThe NTA has confirmed that if an objection is found to be valid by its panel of subject matter experts, the processing fee of Rs 200 will be refunded to the candidate’s registered bank account.To facilitate refunds, a dedicated portal has been made available on the official NTA website where candidates can verify or update their bank account details up to 30 June 2026.To submit a valid challenge, candidates must upload authentic supporting documents, preferably from NCERT textbooks or other recognized academic publications.what happens nextOnce the challenge window closes, the NTA will complete its assessment of the objections filed and complete the scanning and verification of the individual Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets.A revised final answer key will then be published. This final answer key will be binding and will serve as the sole basis for calculating marks, preparing merit rankings and determining institutional cut-offs before the declaration of NEET UG 2026 results next month.
