Karnataka Police Recruitment 2026: Applications for 1,600 Police Posts Begin; direct link to apply here
Karnataka State Police (KSP) has started the application process for the recruitment of 1600 Constable (CAR/DAR) posts across the state. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) portal from today 22nd June 2026.As per the official notification, total 1421 vacancies have been announced in Karnataka General Division while 179 posts are available in Kalyana Karnataka Division.Candidates can submit their application forms through the official website before the last date of 22 July 2026.
Karnataka Police Recruitment 2026 : Summary of vacancies
Through this recruitment campaign, a total of 1,600 armed police positions will be filled.
- Karnataka General Division: 1,421 messages
- Kalyana Karnataka Division: 179 messages
Eligibility criteria
Candidates who have passed Pre-University Course (PUC), Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board or institution can apply.Aspirants must have the mark card of examination marks before the last date of submission of application. Candidates who are waiting for Class 12 results or equivalent are not eligible to apply.Apart from the educational qualifications, candidates should have studied Kannada as a first or second language at the Secondary School Certificate (SSLC) level or should have passed the Kannada language examination conducted by KEA.
age limit
The minimum age requirement is 18 years while the maximum age is 33 years as on 22 July 2026.The state government has also announced a one-time relaxation of five years in the upper age limit for eligible candidates.Ex-servicemen will get an additional relaxation of three years over and above the length of their military service.
Reserve for ex-military
As per government norms, 10 per cent vacancies are reserved for ex-servicemen on direct recruitment.The benefit is also available to eligible dependent family members of ex-servicemen who died in service or became permanently disabled during service.
Application fee
Candidates belonging to the General category will have to pay an application fee of Rs.500/-. All other eligible candidates will have to pay Rs.250.Although the application form must be submitted by July 22, candidates can pay the fee up to July 24, 2026.

Exam date and salary
The written exam will be conducted by KEA on September 6, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.Shortlisted candidates for armed police posts will be paid a monthly salary ranging from Rs 37,500 to Rs 76,100 as per government norms.Applicants are advised to complete the registration process well before the deadline and verify all the details carefully before submitting the application form.
