The Central Council of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the revised Class 12 results after completing the verification of observed issues and re-evaluation process. Along with the updated results, the board has also issued a detailed clarification document to answer common questions raised by students and parents.Students who have applied for verification or revaluation can now check their updated results through DigiLocker. The board has said that most of the revised mark sheets were uploaded on June 21, while the remaining cases will be updated shortly.

Where to Check Revised CBSE Class 12 Results 2026

Candidates can access their revised results and updated mark sheets through the DigiLocker result portal.Revised mark sheets are being uploaded in phases. Students whose marks have changed after re-evaluation will receive updated digital mark sheets on the platform.

What if grades remain unchanged after re-evaluation?

CBSE has clarified that re-evaluation and verification are review processes and do not automatically lead to an increase in marks. Depending on the findings, grades may increase, decrease or remain unchanged.Students who have applied for verification of observed issues and have received an ‘unchanged’ result will be given an opportunity to inspect their answer books at the concerned CBSE regional office. The schedule for this process will be announced soon.

Does a change in grades mean there was an error in the assessment?

According to CBSE, not necessarily.The board stated that changes in grades after re-evaluation are a normal part of the review process and occur every year. The purpose of re-evaluation is to ensure that responses have been evaluated in accordance with the established marking scheme and that actual discrepancies are corrected.

Difference between verification of observed problems and reassessment

CBSE has explained that both the processes have different purposes.Check for observed problems allows students to report physical or procedural problems in the scanned answer book. These may include:

Re-evaluation, on the other hand, allows students to request a re-evaluation of specific questions after obtaining a scanned copy of their answer book.Both facilities can be used for one or more subjects.

How CBSE ensured a fair revision process

The board said that the entire process has been carried out with utmost care and transparency.Experts from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur were involved in monitoring the process. Each answer book sent for re-evaluation was verified by two evaluators. Officials from CBSE headquarters and regional offices were also deputed to oversee the revision process.The board added that all complaints about missing pages, blurred copies and related issues were looked into thoroughly.

Reduced rates for students

CBSE has significantly reduced the charges for revision process.The fee for obtaining scanned copies of answer books has been reduced from Rs.700 to Rs.100. The verification fee for noted issues has been reduced from Rs 500 to Rs 100, while the re-evaluation fee has been reduced from Rs 100 to Rs 25 per question.

Refund policy explained

Students who have made duplicate or overpayments will receive refunds directly to their originating accounts.CBSE has also announced that candidates whose marks increase after re-evaluation will get a refund of the re-evaluation fee paid by them.
