Both swimmers will be looking to book their spots in the evening’s semifinals. India will also have representation in athletics as Vishal TK and Rajesh Ramesh will compete in the men’s 400m heats, hoping to advance to the next round.

Weightlifters aim to finish on the podium

India’s biggest medal hopes on Tuesday rest with Nirupama Devi Seram and Harjinder Kaur, who will compete in the women’s 63kg and women’s 69kg weightlifting finals.Fresh off Bindyarani Devi’s bronze medal-winning performance, the Indian weightlifting team will be keen to continue their strong run at the Games.

Boxers preview semi-final spots:

The boxing ring will witness a busy day for India with five quarterfinal bouts scheduled. Preeti Pawar opened India’s campaign against Northern Ireland’s Nicole Clyde in the women’s 54kg category. Next to her is Priya Ghanghas, who will compete with Niamh Mitchell of Scotland in the women’s 60kg division.Later in the evening, Parveen Hooda will face England’s Sacha Hickey in the women’s 65kg quarterfinal, while Jadumani Singh will take on Zambia’s Mwengo Mwale in the men’s 55kg event.
