Sixteen years after the death of popular Malayalam actor Cochin Haneefa, his family’s dream of having a permanent home has come true. The actor, who is remembered for bringing laughter to generations of Malayalam cinema lovers, always wanted to build a house named after his father. That dream has now been fulfilled by his family.As reported by Asianet News, the new house, located in Vennala, Kochi, has been named “Cochin Haneefa’s AB Manzil.” The name pays tribute to her father, AB Muhammad, who Haneefa wanted her house to honor.
A beautiful house built with the memory of the actor
This newly built home stands on a modest lot but has been designed for maximum space and comfort. It includes five rooms and has a beautiful interior. Although the building appears to have two floors from the outside, it offers the appearance and features of a three-story building.The house was also designed as a tribute to the late actor. Its walls display several photographs of Haneefa’s life and work. His awards and precious memorabilia are also carefully stored throughout the building.
Difficult journey after passing Cochin Haneefa
Cochin Haneefa died in February 2010, leaving behind his wife Fasila and their twin daughters, Safa and Marva who were only four years old at the time.The couple became parents after 12 years of marriage. After the actor’s death, several people advised Fasila to return home. However, she decided to stay in Kerala because she wanted to be where her husband had been.For the next 16 years, the family lived in a rented house in Kadavanthra while facing financial and legal problems.
Legal aid helped the family build their house
Reports say that after Cochin Haneefa’s death, most of his assets were seized in cases. The family had to wait for many years for the issues to be resolved.Legal restrictions were lifted after Safa and Marva turned 18, allowing the family to regain control of the player’s assets. This led to the construction of a house that people had been waiting for for a long time.The new building is located on Ambedkar road in Vennala and is called “Cochin Haneefa’s AB Manzil”.
Dileep and Harisree Ashokan attend housewarming ceremony
The housewarming ceremony was attended by several members of the Malayalam film industry, including Dileep and Harisree Ashokan, who were closely associated with the late actor.During the ceremony, Fasila, together with the daughters of Safa and Marva, performed a ritual of boiling milk to mark their entry into the new house.The family also appreciated the support they received after Haneefa’s death. During the tough years actor Dileep allowed Haneefa’s Toyota Innova to be used in his films. The money they earned from the car became the family’s main source of income as they rebuilt their lives.
