MCC NEET UG 2026 counseling schedule is expected as soon as round 1 registration schedule becomes clear across the country

MCC NEET UG 2026: The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) is yet to release the official schedule for NEET UG 2026 counseling. After the declaration of Re-NEET UG 2026 results on 16th July 2026, the notification is expected on the MCC official portal during the last week of July or early August.The counseling process will determine admissions to undergraduate medical courses in participating government, private and deemed medical colleges. Candidates waiting for registration and selection are advised to check MCC official portal only for updates and counseling schedule once released.Chronology of the planned adviceWhile the full schedule has not been released, the tentative admissions schedule indicates that Round 1 registration and option filling may begin in the first week of August.

The round 1 seat allotment result is expected in mid-August, followed by the report to the allotted colleges in mid-to-late August. Expansion of seat matrix recordsThe National Medical Commission has approved 9,911 additional MBBS seats for the current admission cycle. The total national intake now stands at 1,36,939 seats in 823 medical colleges, excluding institutes of national importance. Of these, 63,296 are in government institutions and 73,643 in private and reputed colleges. The current cycle also includes 25 newly approved medical schools.Karnataka has the highest total MBBS capacity with 15,395 seats and also leads in private medical infrastructure with 10,995 seats. Maharashtra has the highest availability of government seats with 6,000 seats.Date of examination and qualificationThe examination cycle saw 22,79,155 registrations, while approximately 19,99,000 candidates appeared for the re-examination. A total of 11,21,170 candidates qualified, resulting in a national pass percentage of 56.08. The highest score was 715 out of 720 jointly secured by AIR 1 Aryan Gupta of Punjab and AIR 2 Panshul Bansal of Haryana.
