Superstar Jensen Ackles revealed that he was active on the show before Ryan Reynolds was cast. “There was a movie I was talking about a lot,” said Jensen Ackles at the ‘Supernatural’ event. “I wasn’t available, so the train kind of stopped there. But, if I was available, I would have to, you know, jump through the studio and jump through, you know, production hoops and stuff.“

Jensen Ackles admitted some of the issues that made his absence go smoothly. “Maybe it was a good thing because my ex-girlfriend was there and so maybe it would have been difficult, so maybe it worked out,” he said, referring to Morena Baccarin, who played Deadpool’s love interest Vanessa in the film.

Jensen Ackles expressed confidence in his results, acknowledging the skills of his former friend. “I think the whole team was amazing. I probably would have messed it up for a lot of people if I had been a part of it, so maybe it’s better I didn’t. But that would have been cool,” he said. Jensen Ackles has confirmed that ‘Deadpool’ is a movie he “really, really” loves, and is reminded of how much fun it would be to play the character every time he watches the film.
