The National Testing Agency (NTA) has invited applications for 16 Young Professional (YP) posts through Pratibha Setu portal of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The hiring is intended to strengthen the agency’s academic, legal and financial functions as it expands its examination and research activities. As per the official notification, the vacancies are available in three streams. There are 12 posts in Academic Research, 2 posts in Legal Research and 2 posts in Finance and Accounting Research. Selected candidates will work at NTA headquarters in Delhi. Occasional travel to India may also be required depending on official work. The commitment will initially be for 24 months and may be extended for a further 12 months based on performance and organizational requirements.

Eligibility criteria
Only applications will be accepted from candidates registered on the UPSC Pratibha Setu portal.
Academic Research
Candidates must:
- Have appeared in civil services examination and listed in Pratibha Setu portal.
- Preferably have a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree or experience in research and teaching.
Legal Research
Candidates must:
- Having presented the Public Service Elective in the Law Elective.
- Be in possession of a Master of Laws (LLM) from a recognized university.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in legal research or litigation.
Financial and accounting research
Candidates must:
- Have appeared in Civil Services Examination and be in Pratibha Setu portal.
- Be in possession of a postgraduate degree in commerce, economics, finance or a related subject, or hold professional qualifications such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost and Management Accountant (CMA) or Company Secretary (CS).
- Candidates with experience in finance, budgeting or auditing will be preferred.
Candidates should also be within the age limit prescribed in UPSC Pratibha Setu Scheme.
Salary and tenure
Selected candidates will receive:
- A fixed monthly remuneration of ₹80,000.
- An initial contract of 24 months, extendable up to 36 months depending on performance.
- Eight days of leave per year on a pro rata basis.
- A five-day full-time work week at the NTA office in Delhi.
The notification makes it clear that the commitment is purely contractual and does not guarantee permanent employment with the Government or the NTA.
Selection process
The selection process will include:
- List of eligible candidates based on their profile and relevant stream.
- An interview, which can be done in person or by video conference.
- If necessary, the NTA may also conduct a written test or a task-based assessment before making the final selection.
