State Bank of India (SBI) offers internship opportunities to students through its SBI Summer Internship Program 2026. Who can apply?
Students pursuing a full-time course at an institute approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) or the Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE) are eligible to apply, provided their course requires them to undertake an internship at an external organization.Students can be selected through campus recruitment or can directly approach SBI for internship opportunities. The bank has the right to accept or reject any application without giving any reason.

- Letter from the educational institute confirming that the internship is part of the course

Selection process
The selection process includes a personal interview. If required, candidates will also have to appear for a group discussion.In SBI circles, the Learning and Development (L&D) department conducts the selection process. For Corporate Center and Corporate Center establishments, requests are handled by the respective Human Resources (HR) or Administration departments.

Students interested in applying should contact the Learning and Development (L&D) department of the local head office (LHO) of the SBI circle where they wish to apply.If an application is submitted to any other SBI office or branch within the circle, it will be forwarded to the L&D department for consideration.For internships at the Corporate Center or Corporate Center establishments, applications can be submitted directly to the relevant HR or Administration department.

SBI offers scholarship only to selected interns under scholarship category. The amount is paid upon successful completion of the internship project and submission of the project report.The bank has clarified that the interns will have to bear the rest of the expenses, including accommodation, travel and any additional costs incurred during the internship.
Will the interns have a job offer?
no SBI does not offer internship after completion of internship.
