With CM Vijay starrer ‘Jana Nayagan’ all set for a theatrical release on July 23, director H Vinoth has spoken about the major controversies that surrounded the film during its production. Rumors had it that the footage of the film was secretly shot at an event in Karur using multiple cameras, leading to speculation on social media. Responding to the allegations for the first time, H. Vinoth he strongly denied the allegations and said the truth could have been established by simple verification.
H Vinoth says facts would have debunked the rumours
Speaking to Behindwoods, H Vinoth revealed that he was advised not to take any hasty action as it would only increase the controversy. “They told me the same thing. I asked if I should answer, but they advised me not to because it could be a big issue,” he said.Then the filmmaker questioned the basis of the stories. “I just want to ask one simple question. At that time, was I in Chennai, Bengaluru, or Karur? For the police, it would take only 15-20 minutes to confirm my location. Even if it took the media 15 hours, they could find it through CCTV footage and mobile phone records. If they really looked at those things, they would have increased finding the truth easily.”
The elder said the cases had a big impact on his family
When asked if his assistants would have been present at the scene instead, Vinoth rejected the idea and said that the charges would have been dropped if there had been evidence. “If the film had really been released and the protests had really existed, the people who accused them would have apologized,” he said.The elder also talked about how the conflict affected another person, and said: “What hurt me the most is that some people went to my wife and asked, ‘Did your husband really do this?
