In a recent interview, Kajal Aggarwal explained why she chose Hindi films, what Bollywood can learn from the South film industry, and how the portrayal of women has changed over the years.
Kajal Aggarwal says South cinema shows her desired roles
Explaining why she chose to prioritize South films while speaking on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, Kajal Aggarwal said that good work always comes first. “The quality of work I was getting down South was not what I was getting in Bollywood. The roles I wanted…my goal was quality over quantity. South cinema gives me a lot of opportunities, so why should I do a role in Bollywood?” he said.The actor added that language was not an option in his career. “My first priority has always been meaningful cinema. Language was not a barrier for me because I enjoy the art of filmmaking. It took me seven films to fall in love with acting, but once I did it, I completely dedicated myself to it,” Kajal shared.
The actor says Bollywood can learn timekeeping from the South
Kajal Aggarwal pointed out a major difference between the two industries: time management. “Bollywood should learn punctuality from the South. In Hindi films, nothing happens on time. In the South, people work by the clock. I am used to being on time, and I like that discipline,” he said.Recalling the events of her Bollywood career, Kajal Aggarwal revealed, “Salman Khan it made me wait a long time, and I’m not used to it. They would arrive in the afternoon or evening. Since I had a lot of time, I went to the public gym. I was used to the guidelines that are followed in southern films.” He also said that South films have changed a lot in portraying women. He is no longer interested in women’s gossip. I always draw a line and I have never agreed to such a situation,” he said.
